Top review from the United States

In March 1931 the Burlington House conducted an exhibition of Persian Art including hundreds of miniatures and illustrated manuscripts were presented there. Basically this book serves as a reference catalog to all those master pieces including the dates and names of artists and poets involved that were exhibited there. The history of schools of Persian miniature painting prior to the Mongol invasions through post Safavid including the artists, rulers and other involved characters were discussed by the author, and reference to other opinions were presented in details. In appendices a brief discussions of the Dust Muhammad's story of painters, Mirza Muhammad on Herat School and an album from Tehran's Gulestan Museum were attached. In all this book serves as a reference to Persian Art specifically useful to students and researchers of academia. Among over two hundred paintings presented here mostly are in black and white only a few in color, and nearly a dozen are missing. Finally I must add there are very many valuable and useful information there.
